Scottish Shenanigans

Loch, River, and Inver - Ness

Right on the start of the North Coast 500, we slowed down a bit and spent a very lazy day by Loch Ness and then a very busy day going around Inverness.

Starting the day at a tiny loch we moved on fairly quickly to have a nice lazy at the shore of Loch Ness.

The Scottish weather was unkind to our hammock intentions and, while we got a good bit of reading in, we were rained back into Moira.

Better chance of catching a cold than Nessie.

After so much driving, Moira probably benefitted from a bit more of a relaxed day.

We started Monday with some Loch Ness themed pancakes and made our way down the river Ness to Inverness.

In our last major city of the trip for almost two weeks, we had a good wander around the city and its Victorian markets. Thoroughly loaded up with cupboard food, water, and fuel, we headed off north to officially start the NC500.

First stop was Chanonry point in search of the supposedly numerous dolphins which in fact eluded us. This curious seal however was much less good at hiding than it's dolphin friends.

I can assure you the stone skimming was not done towards the seals.

New part picked up and installed, Moira's windscreen wipers were back and functional again, although just in time for the weather to clear up. Typical!
