Birthday breakdowns
Tuesday started off ominously with Moira failing to start but fortunately a very friendly English expat walker in the car park we overnighted in came over to offer help. The help came in the form of her son Wilf who, after being dragged out of bed at the ungodly hour of 10am, helped us get started again. I'm sure nothing else could go wrong.
A little drive and a cycle later we were in Copenhagen ready to explore the wonders of the city museum.
Danni had to have a slice of cake since it was her birthday. A birthday that would only continue to improve I'm sure!
After some extensive retail therapy we took to the cycle lanes and happened across this gem Danni had read about in the museum. A 19th century community hospital. You can take the Danni out of the hospital but you can't take the Danni away from the hospital (or something like that, I'm unsure my brain has begun to leak out my ears stuck on this road)
Following on our cycle around the centre we went through this star fort, the most impressive remaining example that remains in Europe
At the northern most point of Copenhagen we took a break from our cycles to hunt out a vegan restaurant on our phones and enjoy the view. This included the famous H.C. Anderson little mermaid statue on the right.
Back to Moira and ready for a little move before going back into Copenhagen the next morning and Moira struggled to start. Still feeling not too down we resolved to call the breakdown in the morning and hopefully get our leaky fuel system patched up roadside in preparation for more Danish dalliances tomorrow.
Gari was clearly unphased by the chaos beginning to swirl around Moira and enjoyed a soothing snooze upon his shelf.
Well Wednesday started less confidently than I expected with Moira's first piggy back and Kelb, the second of our cast of characters. Kelb was a very vibrant character cracking jokes and absolutely in awe when I suggested that maybe English roads were worse than the one pot hole he was complaining about...
2 hours of driving around garages later, Kelb had to fly so he unloaded us on a industrial estate street and wished us well. Fortunately Ali, our third and final character, appeared from his garage and was confident he could put Moira's woes to rest.
Since we were now living on an exposed street and the boys had to stay in Moira full time (aside from some walks on the leads) we opted to push Moira back into the shade. I must say I have definitely parked worse before
Settled into our new spot we took the boys for some nice local walks - for a point of reference to how green Danish industrial estates are, think English well-to-do suburbs. We then had some time on our hands so cracked on with a series of our new games (7 in total).
The boys decided to pass the time with some bonding acrobatics
With hope in our hearts we went to sleep with the intention of picking up the part required for Moira tomorrow and being back on our way before you can say, or pronounce, hygge!
